The Crossroads eCitation app is a comprehensive tool for writing citations on mobile devices. Compatible with iPhones and iPads, this app leverages Bluetooth printing capabilities, integrates seamlessly with cameras and barcode readers, and offers a host of user-friendly features aimed at streamlining the citation writing process.

Speed: The efficiency gains afforded by our app are remarkable compared to traditional manual methods. Through intuitive list selection (for items such as vehicles, colors, violation codes, courts, streets, etc.) and barcode scanning of driver's licenses, registration cards, and vehicle identification numbers (VINs), the citation writing process is significantly expedited.

“Dupe” Function: Particularly beneficial for officers focusing on specific locations for traffic enforcement, the app's “Dupe” function allows for easy duplication of information from prior citations. This feature enables swift completion of new citations by replicating content from previous instances and efficiently scanning barcode data for current violators and vehicles.

Field-level Validation: Emphasizing accuracy and completeness, the app includes validation checks for various data fields (such as dates, times, violation codes), ensuring that all details are thoroughly vetted before generating a citation.

Barcode Reading: By utilizing device cameras or external barcode readers to capture information from driver's licenses, vehicles, and registration documents, the eCitation app automatically populates relevant sections. This approach not only enhances speed but also minimizes input errors during violator and vehicle data entry.

Reduce Error Rates: Leveraging court-approved lists for violation codes, violation degrees, court dates, and other dropdown items significantly reduces citation writing errors. Incorporating barcode scanning for driver's licenses and registration documents further enhances the efficiency and precision of capturing vital information.

Bluetooth Printing: Simple and efficient Bluetooth pairing enables quick connection to compatible printers. Printed citations adhere to Judicial Council standards, with fade-resistant and smudge-proof paper. Approved printers boast characteristics such as compact size, lightweight design, rapid printing speeds, durability, and extended battery life.

Configurability: Offering extensive customization options through a desktop management tool, users can configure various elements on the citation form. Adjustable items include violation codes, vehicle details (make/model/color), physical descriptors (hair color, eye color), court particulars (dates, names), street names, demographic features (race), weather conditions, road status, lighting conditions, and traffic specifics.

Officer Notes: Predefined notes equipped with checkboxes and predefined lists cover common incident details like location, lanes, conditions, violator behavior. The inclusion of sections for violator statements and officer-generated freeform notes—supported by speech-to-text functionality—facilitates comprehensive event documentation for potential use in legal proceedings.

Photos: Integrated photo capture functionality allows officers to visually document each citation event. This feature proves invaluable for capturing evidence related to vehicle violations, violator identification, and situational context.

Wireless Sync: Seamlessly transferring data between devices and desktop systems via wireless sync capability streamlines information flow. Devices are equipped to sync over WiFi or air cards swiftly. Upon synchronization, device configurations update promptly, citations are transmitted to the backend database, ticket books are replenished as needed, and system checks for any new updates take place—all within a matter of seconds.

Ticket Book Technology: Emulating the traditional concept of hard copy ticket books, citation numbering is managed through book-based allocations on each device. When nearing depletion of tickets in one book during a sync cycle, a fresh ticket book is automatically issued to sustain continuous citation issuance.
